Frustrated with standard walking tour after standard walking tour, Alex thought up the idea for Kolu while running in København. Alex graduated from the University of Missouri in December 2016 with a dual degree in International Studies and Business Administration. While at Mizzou, he helped manage a team that allowed manufacturers to take the leap abroad at the international trade center. Alex knows firsthand just how difficult it is to build and scale an early stage tech startup like Kolu, and through his entrepreneurial ambition he continues to mentor others to this day. He is originally from Hillsboro, Missouri and has traveled to over 25 countries, making him an avid adventurer who's made it his mission to improve, simplify, and enhance the travel experience for tourists of all kinds. Denmark, Italy, Czechia, and Japan are his favorite countries thus far. He also runs a travel blog at alexwinkler.net.
